In a season of loss and grief I chose to paint the reminder I needed. September 8, 2024, I lost my brother at age 39 suddenly and unexpectedly. My heart felt absolutely broken yet joy was present. I still have hope and joy in the middle of that brokenness. This piece is a reminder to you that sorrow and joy can coexist - in fact, they often do. Regardless of what you’re walking through, don’t resent your grief, loss, or tears because your sorrow is a pathway to God’s promises joy, a new morning and fresh mercies.
